Asiko, a top supplier of sustainable energy solutions, has started a trial for the adoption and use of LPG auto-gas in Kano with the goal of hastening the fuel transition and increasing petrol penetration in the nation.
In order to enable convenient refuelling for the converted vehicles, the company built an auto-gas filling station. The conversion began with two minibuses and five tricycles.
The company released a statement stating that the trial will evaluate the study’s concrete results and effects in an effort to increase the state’s auto-gas vehicle conversion rates.
The LPG auto-gas trial, according to Asiko Energy Managing Director Felix Ekundayo, is intended to show Kano State residents that there is an alternative for tricycles, cars, minibuses, generators, and other vehicle operators who are suffering from the crippling effects of the removal of fuel subsidies.
According to Ekundayo, the autogas tank is robust, impact-resistant, and able to withstand physical clashes or collisions without rupturing or breaking, ensuring driver safety.
Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, the Chairman of the National Gas Expansion Programme, also spoke at the occasion and hailed the project as historic and auspicious.
According to him, Asiko’s auto-gas experiment, which includes conversion kits and a training facility for auto-gas technicians, is the first of its kind in the nation.
