To commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha (Sallah) celebration, the federal government has designated Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, as public holidays.

On behalf of the federal government, the statement was made on Friday, June 14, by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of the Interior.

On this occasion, Tunji-Ojo congratulated the whole Muslim Ummah, both at home and abroad.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to pray for harmony, prosperity, and the stability of our nation as well as to continue imbibing the spirit of love, sacrifice, and peace that the Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) displayed.

The Minister pledged that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration was dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako.

The Minister wished a happy Eid-ul-Adha to the Muslim Ummah and counseled all Nigerians to assume responsibility in order to leave a flourishing Nigeria for our future generations.
