The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it has won all 114 council seats and all 11 chairmanship seats in the recently held local government council elections, according to the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC).
The ruling party was the only party to field candidates for the election, according to the state electoral umpire, meaning that the APC easily won all 114 council seats.
But the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) branch in Gombe State has disapproved of the exercise’s results, calling it a farce and a theatrical performance.
The newly elected and returned local government council officials will be sworn in by Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Monday (tomorrow), while the PDP stated that it is planning what suitable redress measures to utilize.
