Under the direction of Usman Na’aba, a Kano State High Court issued an interlocutory injunction yesterday, halting the implementation of its earlier ruling that barred Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from using his membership in the party.

The court stayed the implementation of its own order contained in its ruling of April 17, 2024, which directed the parties to maintain status quo ante as of April 15, 2024 in relation to the suspension of the APC national chairman from the party by the Ganduje ward executive committee members. This was done while the 4th respondent/applicant’s motion on notice was heard and decided. The court had read a motion ex parte, along with a written address and a 27-paragraph affidavit.

Na’abba then postponed the case’s hearing until April 30, 2024. On April 17, 2024, the court issued an ex parte ruling barring Ganduje from becoming an APC member.

In addition, the court ordered Ganduje, the APC, the National Working Committee, and the Kano State Working Committee (KSWC) to continue operating as usual as of April 15, 2024, until the substantive suit is heard and decided upon on April 30, 2024.
