Federal funding for mining businesses that prioritize local content in their operations has been guaranteed.

During a site visit to Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), an indigenous gold mining firm in Ilesa, Osun State, Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dr. Dele Alake provided the assurance. Segun Tomori, the Minister’s Special Assistant on Media, made this announcement on Friday in Abuja.

In it, Alake reaffirmed the federal government’s pledge to assist mining firms that prioritize using local content in their operations.

He mentioned that the Minister praised the facility’s extensive effort and expressed satisfaction that over 95% of its employees are Nigerians, encouraging other operators to learn from them.

In order to grow the industry, he counseled mining companies to adopt the global best practices of the Segilola gold project.

Alake noted that the company has included local content in its employment and procurement practices and praised the project’s high proportion of Nigerian participation.

The Minister commended the business for its perseverance in pursuing its goals and the effective strategies it used to overcome significant obstacles from the outset.
