The Senate declared on Wednesday that Senator Mohamed Ali Ndume of Borno South will no longer serve as Chief Whip.

During the plenary session, the APC Senate Caucus supported Ndume’s dismissal as Senate Chief Whip when it was put to a voice vote by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Borno North’s Tahir Mungono took Ndume’s place. This coincides with his recent attacks on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The ruling party’s national leadership requested that Ndume leave the APC and join any opposition party of his choosing in a letter to the Senate Caucus.

The party’s national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, secretary, and barrister Ajibola Bashiru all signed the letter.
